Tilburg Summer 2007: Cosmic appearance

Septarite with pyrite crystals. Septarite is fossil clay, which is found in clay pits in Belgium, near Rumst, Steendorp, Niel and Ramsel. Because the clay has a fragile 'shell', water with salt could creep in and create these wonderful ferruginous crystals.
The septarite in macro close-up gets a cosmic appearance.
